Tewksbury Police Department now has three School Resource officers who work out of Tewksbury Public Schools.  

SRO Micheal Jones

Assigned to: Wynn Middle School and Heath Brook Elementary

SRO Jones is entering his first year as a full-time SRO and has been a member of the Tewksbury Police Department since 2022.  

Why Did You Want to Be an SRO?

Officer Jones says that he believes in the importance of showing young people that law enforcement officers are here to help and guide them. Officer Jones feels that a School Resource Officer has a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our youth and support them while in school. 

SRO Stephanie Casino 

Assigned to: Tewksbury Center Elementary School and John F. Ryan Elementary School

SRO Casino is entering her first year as the School Resource Officer and joined the Tewksbury Police Department in 2023. 

Why Did You Want to Be an SRO?

Officer Casino says she wanted to pursue the position of a School Resource Officer because she aspires to be a positive role model in students’ lives; as well as provide a safe environment for students to learn.

SRO James Ryser and Waffles the Comfort Dog

Assigned to: Tewksbury Memorial High School

SRO Ryser is entering his eighth year as a School Resource Officer and his fourth year as the SRO at Tewksbury Memorial High School. Before beginning at Tewksbury Memorial High School he served as the School Resource Officer at the John Wynn Middle School for five years. 

Why Did You Want to Be an SRO?

SRO Ryser says he enjoys helping kids and believes that building positive relationships between youth and Law Enforcement is very important. He loves that he is able to interact with multiple students on a daily basis and successfully engage with them.
