TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department charged a Methuen man with assaulting multiple police officers during an incident at a hotel.

PATRICK BUCKLEY, AGE 36, OF METHUEN, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (Three Counts)
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Resisting Arrest

On Saturday, May 13, at about 12 p.m., Tewksbury Police were called to a hotel at 1910 Andover St., for a report of an unruly customer who was refusing to check out of his room. 

Upon arrival, officers spoke to BUCKLEY, who was enraged, shouting, and refusing to check out or secure his room for another night. BUCKLEY assaulted officers, spitting on an officer, spitting on and punching a second officer, and punching a third officer. 

BUCKLEY was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Neither BUCKLEY nor the officers involved suffered serious injuries. 

BUCKLEY is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
