The Tewksbury Police Department holds an annual Junior Police Academy every summer. This free program is offered in two sessions, each session being five days. The program is open to incoming 5th-8th graders, and they must be Tewksbury residents.
Topics will include physical fitness and health and wellness classes; criminal law; investigations, cyber safety; CPR and first aid; drug and alcohol awareness; domestic violence, motor vehicle law, the K-9 Unit, the Drone Unit, and mental health, with numerous hands-on activities to help students understand the content.
