The Tewksbury Police Department have 3 school resources officers who work out of Tewksbury Public Schools.
SRO Ryser has been employed by the Tewksbury Police Department since 2008 when he graduated from the Lowell Police Academy and assumed the duties of a Patrol Officer in Town. SRO Ryser worked in the Tewksbury Police Department’s Patrol Division for approximately nine years before being selected to serve as a School Resource Officer. Prior to joining the Tewksbury Police Department, he studied Criminal Justice at Umass Lowell and worked part time for the Lexington Police Department.

SRO Ryser is entering his fourth year as the School Resource Officer at Tewksbury Memorial High School and his eighth year assigned as a School Resource Officer overall, before beginning at Tewksbury Memorial High School he served as the School Resource Officer at the John Wynn Middle School for five years.
SRO Ryser is a lifelong resident who graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. He has been involved in many of the youth sports programs in town as a Board Member, Official and Coach. He is also actively involved in the Tewksbury Police Athletic League.
Since being assigned to the Tewksbury Public Schools as a School Resource Officer in 2016, SRO Ryser has become an ALICE Instructor, Stop The Bleed Instructor, radKIDS Instructor, L.E.A.P. Instructor, and Life Skills Instructor. He is a member of the Department’s ATV Unit and is also a member of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s (NEMLEC) School Threat Assessment Response System (STARS Team).
When asked why he pursued the position of School Resource Officer, SRO Ryser says that he enjoys helping kids. He believes that building positive relationships between youths and Law Enforcement is very important and loves that in this position he is able to successfully interact with multiple students on a daily basis.
SRO Michael Jones is entering his first year as a full time School Resource Officer in the Town of Tewksbury. SRO Jones worked as a part time School Resource Officer for last year’s academic year, filling in at all the district’s schools as needed.
SRO Jones has been employed by the Tewksbury Police Department since April of 2022. Prior to his service in Tewksbury, Officer Jones worked as a Police Officer with the Boston College Police Department for six years. Officer Jones is a graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Academy.

A Braintree, Massachusetts native, Officer Jones graduated from the Braintree Public School System, and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Worcester State University. Officer Jones attended Boston College for his postgraduate studies and holds a Master of Science Degree in Sports Leadership and Administration.
In addition to his experience as a patrol officer, SRO Jones has served as a patrol supervisor and is a certified field training officer. SRO Jones is an active member of the Tewksbury Police Department’s Peer Support Unit and Community Engagement Unit. He is also an active member of the Northeast Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) School Threat Assessment Response System (STARS) team as well.
When asked why he wanted to be an SRO, Officer Jones says that he believes in the importance of showing young people that law enforcement officers are there to help and guide them. Officer Jones feels that a School Resource Officer has a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our youth and support them while in school.
SRO Jones lives in Tewksbury with his family.
SRO Casino is entering her first year as the School Resource Officer at the Tewksbury Center Elementary School and the John F. Ryan Elementary School.
Officer Casino graduated from the Lynnfield Police Academy in 2023 and worked in the Departments Patrol Division. Officer Casino is a lifelong resident in the town of Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. Officer Casino went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UMass Lowell.

Prior to Officer Casino’s employment with the Tewksbury Police Department, she has much experience working with troubled youth and families in crisis. Officer Casino was employed by the Department of Children and Families as a caseworker. It was her mission to work with families and communities to keep children safe from abuse and neglect.
Officer Casino was also employed by the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer. She worked with a diverse group of individuals and had the privilege of working in the People Achieving Change Together Unit (P.A.C.T.) which is implemented for youthful offenders from 18-24 years old. The goal of the P.A.C.T. unit is to facilitate mentors and mentees with the valuable tools and staff programing to help them succeed upon re-entering the community.
When asked why Officer Casino wanted to pursue the position of a School Resource Officer, she said she aspires to be a positive role model in the students’ lives; as well as provide a safe environment for the students to learn.
