TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Lowell man with distributing fentanyl. 

MIGUEL FERNANDEZ, AGE 19, OF LOWELL, was arrested and charged with Distribution of Fentanyl. 

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, at approximately 7 p.m., Tewksbury Police detectives witnessed what they believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the area of 85 Main St.

Tewksbury Police stopped a vehicle driven by one of the individuals, later identified as FERNANDEZ, and stopped the other individual on foot. 

Further investigation revealed that FERNANDEZ allegedly sold a bag of fentanyl to a 43-year-old Lowell woman. The 43-year-old woman will be summonsed to court to face a charge of Possession of Fentanyl. Police also located $232 in cash on FERNANDEZ

FERNANDEZ is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
