Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the suspect wanted in connection with a theft at the Tewksbury Public Library on Friday afternoon is now in custody after turning himself in. 

ANDERSON PHAO, AGE 26, of 365 EAST ST., TEWKSBURY, was arrested and charged with:

  • Larceny from Building
  • Break into Depository
  • Vandalize Property 
  • Thief, Common and Notorious

On Friday, Feb. 2, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Tewksbury Police were notified that the money within the donation box at the Tewksbury Public Library had been stolen.

The man was allegedly seen taking the donation box into the restroom where he stole the money, approximately $50, and was then observed heading southbound on Main Street on foot. 

The man, later identified as PHAO, turned himself in on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 4.

PHAO is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
