Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with a theft that occurred at the Tewksbury Public Library on Friday afternoon. 

On Friday, Feb. 2, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Tewksbury Police were notified that the money within the donation box at the Tewksbury Public Library had been stolen.

It was reported that a man wearing a black jacket with a hood and gray sweatpants was allegedly seen taking the donation box into the restroom where he stole the money, approximately $50, and was then observed heading southbound on Main Street on foot. 

The Tewksbury Police Department asks that anyone who may have information on this incident or can help to identify this individual to please contact the Department at 978-640-4385, call the anonymous tip line at 978-851-0175, or submit an anonymous tip here.
