TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a second man in connection with a Dec. 26 break-in on Overlook Drive.
PHILIP CARTER, AGE 41, OF CHELMSFORD, was arrested and charged with:
- Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime
- Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
On Tuesday, Dec. 26, the Tewksbury Police Department was notified of a breaking and entering at a home on Overlook Drive.
Police determined that the suspects stole a number of valuable items, including jewelry and electronics. The suspects also stole a black Mazda Miata from the driveway.
An ongoing investigation into the incident determined that two suspects gained entry through a ground-level window by removing an air conditioner. The residents were not home.
The suspects were captured in several surveillance videos, which Tewksbury Police shared with the public to generate tips about the crime.
An extensive investigation, which included the receipt of numerous tips from the public regarding the suspect’s identities and extensive review of surveillance footage, already led to the arrest of DANA SACCA, AGE 41, of TEWKSBURY, who was charged with Breaking and Entering at Night, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200.
As a result of the investigation, Tewksbury Police also obtained an arrest warrant for CARTER, who was located and arrested Wednesday at a hotel in Salem, N.H. Salem, N.H. Police assisted with arresting CARTER.
CARTER will be arraigned Wednesday in New Hampshire as a fugitive from justice.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
