TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Dorchester man with a subsequent offense of distribution of fentanyl.
FIDIA ARIAS, AGE 37, OF DORCHESTER, was arrested and charged with:
- Distribution of a Class A Substance (Subsequent Offense)
- Operating with a Suspended License
- Default Warrant (Distribution of a Class A Substance)
- Default Warrant (Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit purchased fentanyl from an individual later identified as ARIAS in the parking lot of a business on Andover Street.
Following the sale of fentanyl, detectives moved in and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by ARIAS.
ARIAS was taken into custody at the scene. A follow-up investigation conducted during booking revealed that ARIAS had previously used a different name and that he was also wanted on two default warrants.
ARIAS will be arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
