TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged two individuals with drug possession.  

MICHAELA RYAN, AGE 22, of TEWKSBURY, was arrested and charged with: 

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug 

FAVIO GARCIA, AGE 35, of LOWELL, was arrested and charged with: 

  • Distribution of a Class B Drug 
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug (Cocaine) 
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug (Methamphetamine)

On Monday, Oct. 7 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit, was operating in the area of Ames Hill Road when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction involving a 2011 white BMW.  

Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of the BMW and identified the driver as GARCIA and the passenger as RYAN.  

During a preliminary search of the vehicle, officers discovered multiple clear bags of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, multiple orange-colored pills, and more than $500 cash. RYAN also had two clear baggies of a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, on her person.  

In total 7.7 grams of what was determined to be cocaine was recovered from the vehicle. The orange pills were determined to be methamphetamine. 

RYAN and GARCIA were arrested without incident. 

RYAN and GARCIA are expected to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
