  • Fugitive from Justice on Court Warrant

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, at about 11:05 a.m., Tewksbury Police responded to reports of a possible breaking and entering at Kyoto Steakhouse, 1487 Main St.

The owner of the restaurant reported that $250 was missing from the register as well as a bottle of Grey Goose vodka.

Based on surveillance footage, police confirmed that the restaurant had been entered through an unlocked door at approximately 3:27 a.m. The footage observed a suspect exiting the building with what appeared to be bundles of cash and a bottle of vodka at about 3:31 a.m. and then left the scene toward the area of Hinckley Road.

Police were able to get a description of the suspect based on security footage.

On Aug. 15, officers reported interacting with a male, identified as MORAN, who appeared to have physical similarities to the suspect.

Based on surveillance footage and a collaborative investigation, Tewksbury Police identified MORAN as the suspect.

A subsequent investigation determined that MORAN has an active arrest warrant out of New Hampshire.

Tewksbury Police executed a search warrant of MORAN’s home and found clothing matching surveillance footage from the incident.

MORAN was arrested without incident on Monday, Aug. 19.

MORAN was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Tuesday, Aug. 20. He was released on personal recognizance with the condition to report to New Hampshire by Oct. 4 and to stay away from Kyoto.
