TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that, through an ongoing investigation by the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit and the Merrimack Valley Anti-Crime Task Force, two individuals were arrested and charged with drug trafficking and possession.
DIONVILES MEJIA, AGE 25, of LAWRENCE, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking in 18 Grams or More of Heroin/Morphine/Opium/Fentanyl (two counts)
- Trafficking in 18 Grams or More of Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute of a Class B Drug, Subsequent Offense
KAITLIN ROCHE, AGE 39, of FITCHBURG, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking in 18 Grams or More of Heroin/Morphine/Opium/Fentanyl
- Trafficking in 18 Grams or More of Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute of a Class B Drug
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, at about 8:28 p.m., members of the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit and the Merrimack Valley Anti-Crime Task Force were operating in the area of 600 Ames Hill Drive as part of an ongoing investigation.
As a result of the investigation, MEJIA and ROCHE were arrested after officers observed them taking part in a drug transaction.
Officers recovered 29.4 grams of fentanyl, 31.8 grams of cocaine, 15.3 grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia during the investigation.
MEJIA and ROCHE were arraigned in Lowell District Court on Thursday, Oct. 23.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
