TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested two men on drug charges.

VINCENT AIELLO, AGE 53, of DERRY, NH, was arrested and charged with the following:  

  • Possession of a Class B Drug 

EDGAR HERRERA, AGE 39, of LOWELL, was arrested and charged with the following:  

  • Distribution of a Class B Drug 

On Friday, Jan. 17, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Tewksbury Police and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office were operating in the area of Andover Street, when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction involving a black Lexus Sedan and a blue Honda CRV.  

Officers then conducted a motor vehicle stop of the Lexus and the Honda.  

The driver of the Lexus was identified as AIELLO. During a preliminary search of AIELLO’s person, officers located a small bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.  

The driver of the blue Honda was identified as HERRERA

AIELLO and HERRERA were arrested without incident.  

AIELLO and HERRERA are scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Jan. 21.
