On Sunday, Dec. 1 at approximately 9:11 a.m. Tewksbury Police were dispatched to a business on Old Main Street for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to an individual who claimed that he had dropped off his vehicle, a 2023 Acura, at the business on Nov. 30 for maintenance. When the individual went to pick up his vehicle the next day, the vehicle was no longer at the shop.

Tewksbury Police utilized surveillance footage from the shop, which showed the 2023 Acura leaving the business around 1:42 a.m. on Nov. 30.

Tewksbury Police were then dispatched to Motel 6 on Main Street as it was believed the stolen 2023 Acura was in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the vehicle in question was the stolen 2023 Acura.

A preliminary investigation identified the individual who took the Acura as CRUZ, who was staying at the motel.

CRUZ was arrested without incident. During a subsequent search of CRUZ’s belongings, officers discovered several strips of Suboxone.

A subsequent investigation also determined that when taking the Acura from the business it is believed CRUZ tampered with and opened packages that did not belong to him.
