TEWKSBURY– Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Tewksbury man with assaulting and beating another man while brandishing a firearm.
ABRAHAM FIGUEROA, AGE 19, OF TEWKSBURY, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm)
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Ground)
- Extortion by Threat of Injury
- Assault and Battery
- Threatening to Commit a Crime (Murder)
On Monday, July 31, Tewksbury Police were contacted by an 18-year-old Dunstable man who said he was assaulted and beaten by two men, one of whom had a firearm on Sunday, July 30, in a wooded area in the area of Whipple Road and Champion Street.
The victim suffered a head injury. He went to a local hospital for medical treatment before calling police.
An initial investigation determined that one of the two assailants was FIGUEROA. FIGUEROA was located by Tewksbury Police on Monday at a home on Whipple Road, and he was taken into custody without incident by Tewksbury Police and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team.
The investigation also determined that this was not a random act of violence, and these individuals knew each other.
A second suspect, ANTHONY FORD, AGE 18, is wanted on an active arrest warrant related to this incident.

FIGUEROA was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court.
